Sidekick Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Sidekick is a two-person fitness game. This is an invited test. This policy says what the app collects and why.

Who we are

Klos Digital runs Sidekick. Contact: privacy@klosdigital.com.

Who can use it

Sidekick is for people aged 16 or older. You confirm this when you set up your profile. We do not collect your date of birth.

What we collect

  • Email address. Used to sign you in with an emailed code.
  • Profile. Your display name, your chosen avatar, your time zone, and how many workouts a week you say you usually do (a self-reported baseline you give at setup).
  • Workouts you log. The workout type (a short label you pick or write, up to 40 characters), its length, and when it happened. You can add an optional note, up to 280 characters, when you dispute or edit a workout.
  • Partner responses. When your partner confirms, disputes or edits a workout, we store the outcome, an emoji cheer chosen from a fixed list, and any note they write.
  • Game state. Your pair, weekly goals, streaks, fight events, items and loadouts, and the focus you choose.
  • Push notification token. A token for your phone and its platform (iOS or Android), so we can notify you about your partner's workouts. We use Expo's push service to deliver notifications. We also keep a record of the notifications we send you.
  • App usage events. Event names, timestamps and small context details (such as which workout or boss), linked to your account, such as: app opened, notification opened, invite code screen viewed, invite shared, tutorial completed, and screens viewed (fight breakdown, boss intro, focus, inventory, crafting, loadout, suggestions, planned versus logged). The server also records game events such as a workout logged, confirmed or disputed, a pair formed or left, and a week settled. We use these to see how the test is going.
  • Crash reports (optional). In builds where crash reporting is switched on, we use Sentry to receive crash and performance data (about the app and what it was doing when something went wrong). We do not add your name or email to these reports. Builds without it send nothing.

What we do not collect

We do not read your health data (for example from Apple Health or Google Fit) or your location. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your data.

Who sees your data

  • Your partner. Your partner sees your display name and avatar, the workouts you log (type, length, time) and any notes you add when disputing or editing them, along with your game progress in your shared fight.
  • Service providers acting for us. Supabase hosts our database and sign-in, in the United States. Expo delivers push notifications. Sentry receives crash reports when enabled.

We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Then your account and the data tied to it are deleted. Notes or cheers you left on your partner's workouts stay with their record. Crash reports already sent stay with Sentry under its own retention.

Your choices

  • Delete your account in the app under Settings, "Delete my account". See "Deleting your data" below.
  • Notifications can be turned off in your phone's settings.
  • For other requests, email privacy@klosdigital.com.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Settings, "Delete my account". This leaves your pair and permanently deletes your account and the data tied to it. Notes or cheers you left on your partner's workouts stay with their record, and crash reports already sent stay with Sentry under its own retention. This cannot be undone.

If you cannot use the app, email privacy@klosdigital.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account.

Not medical advice

Sidekick is health-adjacent. It is a game that tracks workouts you report, and it is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting an exercise program.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell testers in the app.
